It’s a photo of an A3 size acrylic painting by me, Cathy Noble Art, called ‘padlock on red’. It was inspired by a photo from my WEA art tutor as part of an online course I’m attending and the sight of the padlock and bolt on a door felt symbolic to me for the times I’ve been locked inside, during admissions to hospital also during covid lockdown. Its says everything about restriction by force which is not a pleasant thing but I think the padlock itself looks rather beautiful in gold tones against a red background. Painting it was rather therapeutic and relaxing.. I spent 4 hours creating this work while my friend slept on my sofa in front of the TV.
