Louis Weinstock’s AD4E workshop ‘How The World Is Making Our Children Mad, And What To Do About It’ is based on his book of the same name and will explore how to honour the wisdom in children’s distress.

It will be of interest to counsellors and psychotherapists and indeed anyone who supports children and young people and who wants to empower rather than pathologise.

‘This is a workshop for anyone who works with and cares about children and their minds. In this time of mass confusion, uncertainty, and overwhelm, children need us to step up and protect their emotional worlds in a clear and empowering way. If they are experiencing any distress, our kids are increasingly looking online to celebrities, influencers, and online tests to self-diagnose. But what if their feelings of anxiety, despair and hopelessness are simply intelligent and understandable responses to a world that is not meeting their needs. How might we the grown-ups listen and respond to children and their experiences in a way that truly honours and empowers rather than pathologises?’ LW
