Richard Thompson

Richard was born in derby, UK in 1980. He has worked in various community settings including a community recording studio, youth/community centres and teaching english to asylum seekers and refugees. He was studying for a degree in music technology at a top 4 university in 2008 when he first encountered the mental health system. He currently produces music from his home studio and is involved in multi- faith work and community radio in his hometown, derby. He has been deeply affected by his encounters with the mental health system but now feels he has his life back which he credits to his strong faith in christ and his learning and insight gained from discovering the Drop the Disorder Facebook group.
