Trainer and author, Juliet Grayson joins us for an introduction to the Pesso Boyden system of psychotherapy.

Pesso Boyden is a non-pathologising, body-based therapy often employed when working with trauma and neglect. It has been highly recommended by International trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk.

“Over the past 40 years, Al Pesso and Diane Boyden-Pesso have perfected an extraordinarily effective technique…. providing people with experiences that were missing during their growth and development. The artistry of [a Pesso Boyden] ‘structure’ can be a unique and profoundly life-altering experience.” Prof Bessel van der Kolk.

“Our lives are not predestined, the world is not done, and we are not puppets in it. We are made genetically to be able to be happy in an imperfect world that is endlessly unfolding.” Albert Pesso.

This workshop is particularly suitable for therapists who are interested in integrating this way of working into their practice and those who may be thinking of doing further training on the model.

MITUK’s mission is to serve as a catalyst for fundamentally re-thinking theory and practice in the field of mental health in the UK, and promoting positive change. We believe that the current diagnostically-based paradigm of care has comprehensively failed, and that the future lies in non-medical alternatives which explicitly acknowledge the causal role of social and relational conflicts, abuses, adversities and injustices.
